the endings are beginning

Yesterday I designed my last pages for The Daily Texan until the fall. It was definitely a bittersweet afternoon— even though all I could think about while I was working was how I would rather be napping, I knew that I am really going to miss working at the Texan this summer. I’m not even quite sure what I am going to do with myself for the the next few weeks leading up to finals. Now that I don’t have work, I suddenly have so much free time.

Hopefully I can make it productive!

On Saturday our advisor hosted the annual end-of-the-year party for permanent staffers at his house. We ate great food, swam, and hung out on his incredible triple-deck patio, which overlooks the beautiful green hills of Austin. The view was breathtaking.

It was a fun day with fun people— a perfect way to end my first year at the Texan.

Thinking about packing up my room for move-out day (which is on the 15th) makes me a little panicky— partially because the entire process is a nightmare. However, this reaction is also due to the fact that the next 9 days will be the last I spend in my tiny little dorm room (which I have grown very fond of) and with my roommate (who I will miss dearly). On the bright side, it will also be my last time eating residence hall food and having to share a bathroom with ten other girls! Yay!

So now it is time to gear up for my last two finals, which also means my first year of college is almost over. Can you believe that? I can’t.
